Oath of the Ancients

The Oath of the Ancients is a sacred vow taken by Holy Crusaders who revere the timeless forces of life, nature, and renewal. They are protectors of the wild, guardians of ancient wisdom, and warriors against the darkness that seeks to corrupt the natural order. Those who take this oath do not fight solely for justice or vengeance but for the preservation of light and life itself.

Tenets of the Ancients

Kindle the Light: The light of life must never be extinguished, and hope must always be nurtured.

Embrace the Cycle: Life and death are intertwined; respect the balance of nature.

Stand Against Corruption: The forces of darkness, undeath, and unnatural destruction must be purged.

Honor the Old Ways: The wisdom of the ancients must be protected and passed down.

Channel Divinity

Nature’s Wrath: As an action, you can invoke the primal forces of nature. Vines sprout from the ground in a 30-foot radius around you, restraining enemies that fail a Strength saving throw. The vines remain for 1 minute.

Ancient Light: You can use your Channel Divinity to summon a radiant beacon. For 1 minute, you and allies within 30 feet gain resistance to necrotic damage and advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.

Spell-Like Abilities

Verdant Aura: At 7th level, you radiate an aura of life within 10 feet. Allies in this area regain hit points equal to your Charisma modifier at the start of their turn. At 14th level, the range increases to 30 feet.

Rooted Resilience: At 10th level, as a reaction when you are hit by an attack, you can root yourself into the earth, reducing the damage taken by half and becoming immune to being knocked prone until the start of your next turn.

Timeless Guardian: At 15th level, once per long rest, you can invoke the spirits of the ancients to shield yourself for 1 minute. During this time, you gain resistance to all damage, and any creature that attacks you must make a Wisdom saving throw or be frightened until the end of their next turn.
