Ariala Silverleaf is the youngest member of the esteemed House Arirahd, a lesser branch of the royal House Ariquis of Arethane. Though she is a distant cousin to King Rhysanus Ariquis, And the Baron, although niether know of the relation, she is not a prominent figure in the royal family and has largely stayed out of the limelight. Her older brother Joram, the Royal Healer, holds a prestigious position within the kingdom, but Ariala has always been more interested in the pursuit of magic than the political life. Raised with the legacy of House Arirahd, known for its warriors, mages, and healers, Ariala showed an early aptitude for arcane magic. She devoted herself to the study of magic, specializing in arcane knowledge and research, and though she has never sought political power, her magical talent is undeniable. Despite being young and relatively unknown, she has become a skilled sorceress, eager to learn and wield magic in new ways. While Ariala's lineage and magical skills are impressive, her place in society has not been defined solely by her family name. Seeking a quieter life away from the expectations of her noble house, Ariala joined the Newhaven Guard. In doing so, she embraced a new path of service and self-discovery, hoping to use her abilities to protect the realm and its people. In the bustling town of Newhaven, the capital of the Barony of the Vale, Ariala finds purpose. Though she is young and still relatively new to the Guard, her magical abilities have made her a valuable asset. Whether using her arcane knowledge to help with reconnaissance, her spells for crowd control, or her stealth and invisibility for covert operations, she contributes significantly to the Guard's efforts. Ariala prefers to keep a low profile, focusing on her duties rather than seeking attention for her lineage. She doesn't wear her family name on her sleeve and and in fact used the human translation of her family name to help go unnoticed. In this so far she has been successful and is known to most simply as a sorceress in the Guard, dedicated to the safety of Newhaven. Her time in the Newhaven Guard has allowed her to grow outside the expectations placed upon her by House Arirahd. She has found camaraderie with the other members of the Guard, who respect her for her contributions rather than her noble heritage. Though she doesn't yet wield the same influence as some of the more senior members of the Guard, Ariala is content with her role, focusing on her magic and learning from those around her. Ariala is an introverted, thoughtful individual who often immerses herself in study, whether magical or otherwise. She is meticulous in her work, whether she's practicing her spells, researching new arcane theories, or patrolling the streets of Newhaven. While not one for loud social gatherings, she is kind-hearted and loyal, especially to those she serves with in the Newhaven Guard. She deeply values the safety and well-being of others and is committed to her role in protecting the people of the Vale. Unlike many nobles, Ariala is free from the burden of expecting greatness and political power. Instead, she finds fulfillment in small acts of bravery and quiet service. She has little interest in the drama of court politics and finds solace in using her magical talents for the good of the kingdom, choosing the Newhaven Guard as a means to do so.
